The Lodge of the Ancient City - Great Zimbabwe
The first night of our Masvingo/Lowveld adventure was spent at the strange Lodge of the Ancient City. The hotel is located just outside Masvingo about 2km from the Great Zimbabwe ruins and is quite a place. Someone took a great deal of time, energy and money to create a lodge that in many ways replicates the Great Zimbabwe ruins. A bit tired and worn these days, this hotel had great potential with a very nice and helpful staff. Shame that we were practically the only people at the lodge.
